Approaching from the M6 south

Leave the M6 at Junction 40.

Take the A66 past Keswick towards Cockermouth.

At the first roundabout just before Cockermouth (Sheep and Wool Centre) take the A5086 towards Egremont. Follow this for approximately 7 miles.

Pass through Lamplugh and a pub called the Lamplugh Tip on your right hand side. About half a mile after the pub turn left to Kirkland.

Pass through Kirkland and about 500 meters from the last speed bump take a small turn on the left beside an old tin barn. Bankend is the second farmhouse down this lane.

You can park in front of the cottage or just inside the gate at side of the cottage.
